Atlético Madrid has announced that full-back Nahuel Molina will join Serie A club AS Roma in a deal worth €18 million. The 28-year-old player had been linked with several teams during the summer transfer window due to his lack of playing time under coach Diego Simeone.

Molina, who participated in the 2022 World Cup, was on the radar of various European clubs. On Monday, AS Roma joined the race for his signature after Zeki Çelik moved to Juventus. After a round of talks between the parties on Wednesday, an agreement was finally reached. According to insider Fabrizio Romano: 'AS Roma has agreed to a €18 million package deal with Atlético Madrid for Nahuel Molina, and there is also a verbal agreement with the player regarding personal terms as Atlético were pushing for his exit.'
