Barcelona coach Hansi Flick avoided answering a journalist’s question about José Mourinho’s arrival as the new strategist of Real Madrid. When asked about the expectations the Portuguese coach brings, Flick replied: “Are we playing tomorrow against Real Madrid? No. That’s why you should ask me about Elche.”

Commitment to Elche

Flick noted that the first official match of the season will take place this Sunday night against Elche, after the postponement of the game against Athletic Club. He stressed that the team must give 100 % of its level, as it will be their first match while the opponent has already played one. He added that managing the minutes of players who played the full 90 minutes in the Trofeu Joan Gamper against Al Ahly of Egypt will be a challenge.

Comment on Rodri

On another topic, Flick praised Rodri, one of the club’s recent signings. He said the player has trained on the pitch and that his leadership and personality are “magnificent” and “fantastic.”
