Atletico Madrid seeks its win in the Coupang Play Series against Manchester City, with Lee Kang-in ready for his debut with the team. Manchester City's coach, Enzo Maresca, has expressed his enthusiasm for facing Lee Kang-in, who has been described as a 'fantastic' player.

The Coupang Play Series is an annual tournament that has been bringing European clubs to South Korea for preseason matches since 2022. Last year, Atletico Madrid and Manchester City faced each other in a match that ended with a 2-1 score in favor of the Spanish team.

This year, the match will have a local flavor, as Atletico Madrid has acquired Lee Kang-in, one of South Korea's most beloved football stars. The midfielder is ready for his debut with the team in his home soil.

'He is a very good player. Fantastic', said Maresca about Lee in his pre-match press conference at Mokdong Stadium in Seoul. 'We are excited to play tomorrow against Atletico Madrid in general, against him, against their new players. Again, I am sure that he will be very good for Atletico Madrid'.

Maresca took over as Manchester City's coach in June this year, after having been Pep Guardiola's assistant in the 2022-2023 season. In that year, Guardiola and his team achieved the continental treble, winning the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League, and the FA Cup.

Maresca has expressed his enthusiasm for facing Atletico Madrid and Lee Kang-in, who has been described as a 'fantastic' player.

'No pressure, just a privilege', said Maresca about his first season as Manchester City's coach. 'For me, this is a huge privilege to be here, to be a City manager. Then in terms of expectation, this is a club that needs to win titles, needs to compete for titles and we are going to try to do exactly the same'.

Maresca has expressed his gratitude for the open-minded attitude of his players towards working with a new coach and towards adapting to changes in structures and patterns.

Defender Rico Lewis, who made his debut with Manchester City in the 2022-2023 season with Maresca as assistant, has expressed his satisfaction with the way Maresca communicates with the players.

'From the first week, we knew what it was going to be like. It was very direct, very clear, very honest and it has followed in the change room and into the sessions', said Lewis. 'Everything is clear, the patterns, the way he wants us to work. I think that is an important thing as a player to have a clear path, a clear idea of what you want to do and what the manager wants from you. And that has been how it has been so far'.
